I just had a system installed in my Nismo last week. I went to Custom Car Sounds (I think that is the name) over on I-10 and Kirkwood. The installers there are good and I stayed all day while they worked on my car. They had the entire interior pulled out. Kind of scary but they did a great job.
I didn't want the nav so I opted for the Pioneer P3400BH which has everything but nav. Like Jenny said, the factory speakers are a joke. I don't think you could pick up a paper clip with the magnets on them.
I went with Alpine component speakers for the doors and upper tweets. We tried to retro fit something for the rear but couldn't get anything to work because of the contours of the rear panels. I didn't want any speakers showing. I also got a Memphis Audio amp for power and they mounted it behind my drivers side seat. Along with that, I had a rear camera installed with sensors that all mount inside the license plate frame, and the image shows on the radio screen.
Last, I manufactured a mount for my 10" Sub in the rear that goes under the carpet and in the spare tire area (with the spare still in place) For the type of music I listen to (rock) it sounds great!
Actually one more last thing. I had them put some LED clusters behind the reflectors in the doors so when they open, they light up.
