I've never dumped the clutch from stop since I don't want to abuse my car, though I would still rev it up from gear to gear. However, I have attempted several time from the stop at the traffic light trying to accelerate as fast as I can by basically starting at around 1500 rpm on 1st and going through each gear sequentially. I upshift to 2nd around 4k rpm, and then shift at 6500 on 2nd and 3rd.

Ok. Perhaps I shouldn't say this is by all means accelerate "as fast as" I can. While after 3k on 2nd, and then 3rd of course, the car really starts to kick it, but from full stop, with the way I describe above, the car just doesn't seem to feel torquey. Is that normal? or is there's something wrong with my engine?

So if one wishes to achieve 4.5 s from 0-60, does he really need to dump the clutch at 4k+ rpm on 1st?
First thing to do is remove the stoplight from the equation and take yourself to a strip to practice this.
