Location plays a huge part in what you can expect to get for it. Plus, you have to take into consideration the price of the car you're trading for. A lot of dealers like to play the shell game. They give you a good trade value and screw you on the car you're buying or vise versa. Make sure you know the value of the car you're looking at as well as you know your own.
I traded my 350z in for the 370z. I got $14,200 for the trade and the 370 at 300 over invoice (it was new). That's a pretty good deal since the KBB value on my 350 was actually closer to $13,500.
