Thanks! The shot of the pellets is all the way open at f/4. I'm pretty pleased with it at that stop, even though as a rule of thumb, either end of the lens' range is not the sharpest.
I thought about the 24-70 f/2.8 L as well, but a couple of factors swayed me towards the lens I ordered.
IS. Enough said.
I wanted L glass sharpness for the kind of work I'm doing in studio and that's typically being shot at f/8-11. I love my EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
