Amazon.com: Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens for Canon EOS SLR Cameras - Gray Market: Camera & Photo
Says there's 13 in stock. If you're in the (gray) market for one...
Thanks! The shot of the pellets is all the way open at f/4. I'm pretty pleased with it at that stop, even though as a rule of thumb, either end of the lens' range is not the sharpest.
I thought about the 24-70 f/2.8 L as well, but a couple of factors swayed me towards the lens I ordered.
IS. Enough said.
I wanted L glass sharpness for the kind of work I'm doing in studio and that's typically being shot at f/8-11. I love my EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Standard Lens, but I sometimes find that with the 7D's crop factor, I can't get far away enough from my subjects for head to toe shots within the confines of my working spaces.
Finally, I liked the idea that my new lens, minus a little bit of focal length, is a good replacement for the EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens that came with my kit. I'm trying not to drag a ton of stuff around with me.
That said, anyone want to buy a EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens? Gently used since the beginning of the year. Includes lens hood.
