Mr Ed is on a distinguished road
Default Australia - 2007 BF Mk2 FPV GT

Given that this forum is truly international, I thought I would share this car with people. You will never have seen this car before. The Z we bought is our '2nd' weekend car.

This is my daily driver below.

In Australia - Holden (GM) and Ford go head to head in the large car market. The basic cars are Holden Commodores and Ford Falcons. Our pinnacle of motorsport is v8supercars (The official site of V8 Supercars Australia - v8supercars.com.au)

Many of you in USA/UAE have seen the Pontiac/Chevrolet version of the Holden Commodore.

This car is a modified version completed by Ford Performance Vehicles. (FPV). FPV are similar to maybe Shelby and Saleen for Ford? I guess this is similar to the Ford Mustang but not the standard version.

Basic specs 5.4 litre quad cam 'BOSS' motor
Power - 290kW (388HP)
Weight - 1800kgs (3968 pounds)
Transmission - 6 speed ZF sequential auto
Brakes - Brembo 4 pot pistons.
Tyres and rims - 19 * 9 rims with 245/35/ZR19 Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres

It's a large sedan (similar in size to Ford Crown Victoria)

Interior is quite well equipped. Leather seats, dual zone climate control, bluetooth and amp and subwoofer standard (not as good as BOSE in Z)

However, power wasnt enough for me and I undertook the following modifications

1. Cold Air Induction with ram air
2. Large vortex throttle body
3. Quad stainless steel exhaust
4. Flash tune

End result is 335kW (456HP) - The car has been on a dyno. It goes quite hard although handling is good, but not Z like!

So there you go guys .

The FPV to thrash during the weekdays and the Z to hoon on weekends. Best of both worlds.
