So by
chance I am the proud owner of a '11 Gun Metallic #0001 370z Nismo!
I used to own a '08 PPW #1540 350z Nismo and ever since I sold it I've been dying to get back into one again.
I preferred the more exotic styling of the 350z, but the 370z is sexy as well and the interior is a definite upgrade. So after test driving a 370z Nismo I decided that I really wanted one over the 350z.
I went to a dealer that had 4 Nismo's ('10 White, '11 Silver, White, and Gun Metallic). They all had similar mileage and price so I was going to pick based on color and condition.
Silver was out of the running right away as I've never been a fan of silver cars. It was down to the whites and the gun metallic. As much as I love white cars (4 of my last 5), the white 370z just wasn't doing it for me. And I fell in love with that gray sparkle color... I needed a change.
I looked the car over and it looked very clean, no real scuffs or scratches in the paint, front lip wasn't scraped to hell, and the interior was clean and taken care of. I took the car for a drive and it felt great and shifted smoothly and I ended up going home with it.
The serial number wasn't something that I was looking for or concerned with so I never paid attention to it. In the 350z it was right by the shifter so you couldn't miss it. When I got home I started looking around and just seeing what and where everything was and I finally looked at the Nismo numbering badge and I saw Z34 11 0001. And I was like
I knew the car was a manufacturer vehicle based on the carfax but I didn't expect it to be serial #0001. After doing so research I found out that the Gun Metallic color was a new offering in 2011. So it would make sense that this would be the very first Gun Metallic 370z Nismo produced.
So as excited I am to own this Nismo, it's pretty cool knowing that not only do I have the first 2011 Nismo, but it's the first in Gun Metallic.
