On 9/1 I had the 3M clear bra installed, on 9/2 my bike fell on my car while i was backing into my 1 car garage.... yea anyway so then i had a very experienced dent removal tech come out the next day to fix it.. He placed a suction cup tool on the fender.. i guess it is this thing to help decrease glare from the sun.. first it was directly on the paint.. then he placed it on the 3M bra.. it left a stain on BOTH the paint and the bra. on the paint he was able to wet sand and buff it out (still needs to be polished and buffed some more).
I think this helps prove that Nissan's paint is not up to par...Now he said he has never seen the suction cup leave a stain on paint in his 10 years of dent removal, and I believe him He put it on his truck and another car and it left nothing. He wanted to give me a full refund and offered to pay for any and all damages including gas money for my long trip back to the clear bra installer. but i only took half...because he had been working on the car in the hot FL sun for 2 hours. so here are my pics in order of the events in my story...
clear bra install
Dent right front fender..thank God it wasn't on the body line...
Dude fixing the dent.. notice the tool i referred to..
STAIN on clear bra!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the one on the paint was just the same...
one high res pic
So everything is taken care of now, i just need to buff out the spot where the stain was on the paint since the dent guy didn't get it to perfection; however he was working with a injured shoulder. so To sum it up.. if this happens to you,
Beware of the suction cup tool on Nissan's Soft Paint..
