Its still an awesome car, but not a compelling financial value. Like it used to be.
Camry's etc go up because they keep technologically advancing every 2 years or so. The Z hasn't budged much in 5 model years.
The most significant upgrades have been, oil cooler and upgraded nav screen (if u buy it). Little things like heated mirrors, in cabin filter and upgraded shocks happened in 11: all of this is simple crap for a car company. I expect more for an average of $800-900 a year increase.

Unknown, I understand how you feel. This car is not cheap. Please keep in mind that inflation in the last 10 years have grown at an average rate of 3%. 2011 US official figures was 3.7%. Taking a $30,000 commodity, 3% would equal $900. Add in a weakening dollar, and Nissan's price increase is not out of the norm.
Do I like it.....no, but that is the reality of our world.
Due diligence before the sale, plus using the competition can yield a fairly good price. You're welcome to read my post in the Introduction section, titled 2013 On Order (my price is there). I feel like I got a great deal and really enjoy my 2013Z. Thanks for all the info you guys post here
