Default Anyone with experience on the RE970AS?

Hey guys,

I was about to order some tires today, but I stopped short, since I truly haven't made up my mind on which tires. I originally planned on getting Potenza S-04 Pole Positions in 265/285 widths, but, having driven almost 14k miles this year alone, I feel like I will be pouring money into a tire that will last slightly better than my stock RE050A's.

My friend has a 300ZX TT with these Potenza RE970AS tires, and compared to his old RE760s, they hook better in the straight line and have a sharper turn in feel.

For the RE970AS', the sizes I chose were kind of weird - 255/40/R19 and 295/35/R19, but they are still within +/- 3% of the original overall diameter. Price wise, for all 4 out the door, they are within 50 dollars. This makes these all seasons very expensive in their class, but if they last a long time, worth it. (I could get the rears in the stock size of 275/35/R19, but I think if I go for the 295, the width will make up for the harder compound)

Do you guys have any input on either the S-04 or the RE970AS? I know all season tires are not a popular choice for many of you guys, but if these RE970AS' are as grippy and stiff as the stocks, I'll be damn happy. I'm not looking for extremes like the RE-11 or anything like that.
