I recently purchased a 2012 370 w/touring, sport package and manual transmission. Prior to the Z I had a 2010 Maxima. I purchased the Z with the expectation of getting around 20mpg. The sticker lists 18-26mpg, the sticker on my Maxima listed 19-26mpg which resulted in 22.5mpg for the same basic driving routine as I do in the Z....so my natural assumption was about 20mpg for the Z. Nope, I'm getting 17.4mpg after the first 1K miles. I'm driving it easy through the suggested break in period of 1,200 miles, using only 92-93 octaine fuel, mostly shifting between 2k-3k rpm. Any thoughts of what's causing such poor fuel efficiency? Are you experiencing this too? Other than this I love the Z but if I would have known this up front I might have reconsidered the purchase. Pretty sure I can get V8 muscle at 17.4mpg. Thoughts?
I too once got 17.4 during break in. I have never seen that high mileage again driving the same roads since. If you want good gas mileage, I think you should have reconsidered the purchase. But you will have a good time.
