Well it's been like 3 days so far.
No CEL light, and no driving issues. Just filled up with 93 premium octane today and I had no problems. Drove about 40 miles to pick up my short shift kit from Fedex.
I think it's safe to say that gas cap won't cause any issues and is worth it for the convenience alone.
