Default Looks like the 2015 Z wont be getting a turbo after all???

PARDON IF THIS IS KNOWN INFO

Sadly and surprisingly enough, I read an article from Road&Track that the patented infiniti 3.0 turbo engine we all been excited about is a TURBO-DIESEL set for Europe Obviously this engine won't fly here in a Z. From what it looks like... the 2014 G coupe will be getting the M37H engine producing 360hp. (Possibly 10-20hp boost with a sportier tune) The IPL is rumored to be getting the AMG 5.5 ltr v8. Then there's the mercedes 3.5 that will be another optional engine for the Gcoupe. The G coupe is straying away from number designations so these varied displacements make sense. The Z has been marked by its engine displacement since day one in the U.S. and europe. So I'm sure japan will persist in continuity for the american version of the fairlady???

I bring this to the table because of the inherent kinship between both v37 skyline and Z34fairlady. One thing I heard nissan say about a year ago is that the fairlady and Skyline won't be related anymore. Both will be, soon there own seperate cars. I don't know if the meant that by chassis design or engine? But I do know this. I don't think either engine is appropriate for the Z. As intrigued as I am to see a 5.5L G-coupe. I think its heavier 2+2 bodystyle and long wheelbase allow for this type of engine and displacement increase. Whereas the Z is borderline bloated for its original design philosophy. At this pont i'd be happy with a refined 3.7 with 360hp/305LB TQ(non-hybrid) and a 350lb diet. That would make minimal acceptability for a Z and I have a feeling that won't happen either... the fate of the Z is scary.

Where will the Z go is unclear. But we now know the 3.0T is a pipe dream of a possible FI platform... we'll just have to keep digging for clues.
