FYI: Replacing parts with new ones will NOT solve the problem. You will have to use glue/get crafty with some modifications etc.
if the existing part is beat up and not to the exact factory dimensions then it will not fit right. if you have ALL new parts and install them correctly you SHOULD not have a gap...

but your also right, well placed zip ties and added securing measures will fix the gaps.... its what im doing instead of buying new sh1t
