First off, this isn't spam. I've been around here since Feb, and I'm fairly certain a few members from WA have seen be rolling around the Bellevue/Seattle area. I'm hoping this is the correct area to post this.
My good friend Doug (who some of you might recognize as a recent contestant from ABC's The Bachelorette) started a charity organization about 7 or 8 months ago called Dollar Per Month. In simple terms, it's a charity voting site that sort of turns giving into a game. There are social media aspects to it that we hope to keep people involved, too.
By running three charities on their website every month, they have restructured the donation model so that members determine which charities receive the most money by voting on their favorite one. Another really cool feature is the Social Impact Score, which is a measure of your impact on the world based on my charitable actions and donations. It's fun to know that your charitable engagement is being shared with a tight-knit community that cares about how we can make the world a little better and where money is donated.
It would be great if you could take a look, and if you're interested, sign up, or at least forward the link to a friend. We're doing everything we can to get this up and running but finding the launch phase to be taking a lot longer than we'd prefer. Also, if you have concerns with transparency, Dollar Per Month has it.
