Yes but most of the power is at the very top of the revs. I believe the BRZ redlines 2nd gear at about 58-60mph while the RX-8 is 62-64. It's been a while since I had my RX-8, don't recall all the specifics with it.

You are right the RX-8 hasn't done well at the nationals, but neither has the 370 with the exception of you and one or two others. Of course it is from a much smaller sample size, so who knows. As a former owner of two RX-8s (I traded my 06 in for the 370), I have no idea how the RX-8 is even in the same ballpark. I guess it depends on tight the course is.

It will be an interesting class with the MSR and ZOK gone especially if the current class leaders switch to a different car and stay with the class.

I'm a little surprised the BRZ/FRS can only fit a 245. With the rest of the class on 265's, 285's, or 295's, being able to squeeze the 275 seems critical.
