The current GT-R is an amazing car, and it's still relatively new within a redesigning cycle. Not to mention it's not a regular sedan like Camry or Civic. The cost to develop a brand new generation of GT-R is much higher than regular cars. Hence each generation should have a longer model cycle to begin with. GT-R is legendary, and the current generation has proven to be able to beat other supercars way more expensive than it. If Nissan end up canceling GT-R all together, it will be a shame, and then it's just sooner or later that Nissan will turn into Honda who have totally lost their way.
The next Z is supposed to be downsized anyway to reduce weight and improve fuel efficiency. If Nissan can develop a good 4-cylinder turbo which can produce almost the same power-to-weight ratio as the current Z, it will be a success.
