No, the welds are actually stronger and thicker than the original metal and the corvette guys have been doing it for years. I have powdercoated several sets that were widened by this company and was impressed with the quality. They check for trueness before and after and I even had one customer who's wheels they wouldn't widen due to some undetectable (to the naked eye) warpage.
