It's a tough situation and every couple has a different outcome. My wife and I had our period of darkness (9 years ... years 3 through 12) ... so to speak ... but found a way back. It wasn't easy. What happened between us could destroy 99% of marriages. However, we remained together, albeit for different reasons, but in the process, we rediscovered each other, and soldiered on.

Over the years, we grew in different, but important ways ... ways that enabled us to love each other again. Every marriage has challenges and annoyances. We cope in our own ways. We're now in year 24 and are adapting to living without young kids. Our son is now 20.

I would say this. Before you walk away, make sure that you AND YOUR SPOUSE have done everything that one can reasonably expect. However, if you're not on the same page with visible action, then do what you need to do.
