I love my NISMO but I wouldn't even consider lowering it -- it's my DD and with all the speed bumps, frost heaves, and potholes here in MA, I already scrape my splitter probably at least once a week, even when I'm trying to be careful. Shouldn't be as bad in NC I guess...
Since you're happy to mod, and you're already planning to replace some of the NISMO upgrades, I'm inclined to agree with others who suggested that you might be better off to skip buying the NISMO. It's basically a base model with perf upgrades, and you can probably save $10k by buying a base and upgrading the bits separately. Unless you're really tied to the NISMO aerodynamics and wheels -- personally I think they make the look of the car, and didn't want to deal with replacing them with after market stuff, so I stuck with the NISMO.
