I have a spot beside a guy with a beat up car and a crappy motorcycle. In order for him to park the motorcycle and his car, he has to cheat way over near the line on my parking spot. We both have two spots enclosed within large concrete pillars on the ends of the two spots. Not an issue now but when I take possesion of the Z I was thinking of writing a note and putting it on his windshield asking to move over a bit. Do you think this is risky or out of line? I'm a bit worried about repercussions and I try to be non confrontational to a fault. Basically it has gotten worse and his tires are just about practically on the painted parking line. I can't cheat too far away from him because there is a huge pillar that could **** up my door. It's pissing me off thinking about it. I don't want to go to the building staff just yet and want to solve it in a mature fashion. Any advice?
If I am reading you correctly, it sounds like he is parking both his car and bike in the same spot which I'm assuming is made for one vehicle, either bike or car. If that's the case, he's breaking the rules set by your apt complex which I believe should be brought to the attention of the apt. super. If you choose to bring this to the attention of the super, take a picture of it for evidence. Having said that, talking to the guy first is the best way to go but unless you know him pretty well, he may take it in an aggressive way. Here's a passive aggressive approach....cover your car even when it's in the parking garage and he might just get the suttle message that you're someone who actually cares about how your car looks and he may get it that he needs to be extra careful. If nothing else, your car will be protected from any dings. Either way...this is just another example of people who just don't give a *f.... I see it all the time. It's all about them! I love my 370Z and have to park it far away from other cars whenever I go to a store. Luckily I have a house where I can park my Z but I still cover it. I guess it's the price we pay to have such an awesome car!
