Did you test drive the car much before you bought it? It's pretty easy to test 0-60 type acceleration.
I think the best way to appreciate the speed of the car is to take some curvy roads and keep the rpm's above 4.5k by doing appropriate shifting. Pulling out of the turn is so satisfying and it definitely throws you back in the seat. Our engines rev to 7500 rpm too, which is one thing to keep in mind. If you are used to shifting at 6k or 6.5k, you'll be wasting a lot of the best part of the engine's range.
Might just be that you are used to more powerful cars though. Or stuff like the lower wind noise and stability at higher speeds due to zero lift that throws off perception of speed. 80 in this car feels as smooth as 50 in my old camry.
