Dyno Predictions for my upcoming mods?
Hey Z lovers!
I just ordered a bunch of bold on's, and will be doing an Uprev tune (at Z Shop Garage in San Jose Ca).
Anybody care to guess what my gains will be on my totally stock, manual, 09 sport? She currently has 27,500 miles or so, and previous owner was pretty easy on her as far as I can tell. So far she has only seen maintenance at the Nissan dealer in Santa Barbara where she used to live.
I will post my pre/post-mod dyno and test drive results as soon as the work is done!! As a bonus, I will also try to post pre/post exhaust note vids.
As exhaust note and throttle response/fun factor is too hard to quantify, I will be looking primarily at 3 measurable results:
a. whp
b. Tq
c. MPG at 65 mph (as read by trip computer reset at speed) (cruise controlled) on 10 mile stretch of hwy 880. (Currently 32.1) (about 2500rpm in 6th gear)
Here is the plan.
1. JWT Pop Charger. (intake)
2. Berk HFCs
3. Berk Cat Back Exhaust.
4. Uprev flash with Dyno tune at Z Car Garage.
*MY* (very uneducated) prediction is:
a. whp: 270 up to 303 (+33)(10% gain)
b. ft-lbs tq: 222 up to 223 perhaps? (+2)(10%gain)
c. MPG: 32 up to 35 (+3) (probably wishful thinking due to low rpm cruise.)
I used to drive (20 years ago) a '77 280z and loved it. By comparison this '09 370 is a spaceship. I have no idea what to expect from this tune but know it will be a fun journey and make the car feel like its "all mine"
Finally, (I know this is probably discussion for another thread but...) here are ALL my planned upgrades:
1. POP chargers (JWT)
2. HFC (berk)
3. CAT back exhaust (berk)
4. dyno tune (uprev)
5. sound dampening (Dynamat to be self installed)
6. Pulled steering lock CB (actually already done)
7. convex stick on side mirrors (also already done and sooooo much better)
7.5 (edit) locking nuts from dealer (also already installed...those 19' wheels are pretty sweet)
8. (most important of all!!!) 370z.com window sticker.
This is my DD. If anybody else has suggestions for MUST DO mods (like the steering lock and sound dampening) please chime in. I'm all ears and somewhat new to the forum.
Cheers.
