Definitely think the GT500 would fare much better with more rubber. The ZL1 has so much more contact patch. Ford did get their LC right, though, because in the right hands the '13 is pretty sick in the 1/4 mile.
However as a daily driver GTR would smack this new GT500 off the line in most street scenarios. Not saying racing but you know fun little sprints off the line on wide open roads with no traffic. I have to laugh as I used to pull up next to big hot GT500s at stop lights in my AWD Mazdaspeed 6 gt and drop the clutch right at torque sweet spot at 2700 rpm and my car would jump off line with no wheel spin. gT500 drivers would be squealing tires behind me and not catch me until middle of second gear. Then they would want to do stupid stuff to prove their cars were faster.

These over 500 hp Mustangs are just stupid. I guess if you live for Drag racing a at the track it would be ok? ....but Really? 600 + hp in piece o crap mustang? I know it's been done for years but why not focus on making the car handle? Pull weight out etc.

ford is really disappointing me.
