This is a car I've worked on before, but its been quite some time (at least 2 years) so sadly it was in about as rough of shape as any car I've ever worked on. Adding to the general neglect the owner had been egged multiple times in the past few months. Rather than fully washing he simply pressure washed and let it air dry. The objective wasn't full correction, but we were able to get about 85-90% on this car. The egg damage was reduced as much as possible, but still present.
Interior wasn't in terrible shape, a basic wipe down and conditioning of the seats and panels made all the difference. A quick vacuuming and spot treatment of stains on the carpets was all that was needed.
The bulk of the time was spent on paint correction.

My best friend Anthony started with wheels and tires while I documented the exterior:
To treat the tar, bugs, and grime built up on the lower rockers plus front and rear bumpers I sprayed full strength APC and allowed it to dwell prior to washing. This softened the contamination considerably and helped ease the removal.
After strip washing the car with a mix of APC and Car Wash we began claying... mother nature had other ideas and started to rain. If my neighbors didn't think I was crazy before I've removed all doubt now.
The car was washed again and then pulled into the garage to be dried. I got a better idea of the level of damage I was dealing with
Test panel side by side, corrected on the right, uncorrected on the left. After fighting with it extensively the decision was made to jump to Flex PE14-2 Rotary + orange pad + swirl & haze to conserve time. That was then followed with a pass of Fine Machine Polish + White Pad on the Flex 3401vrg. The use of 2 machines allowed us to work faster - as I would complete a panel with the orange pad Anthony would come in behind me and follow up with the white pad on the 3401.
Tight spots and some more severe scratching around the trunk were addressed with the PE14-2 and assorted pads rather than dragging out the drill.
A break in the clouds allowed us to move outside, inspect the progress and address some areas that needed extra attention
Polished... no glaze, or wax at this point... just naked paint
Out came the prototype Gen4 glazing pad on the 3401vrg to lay down a beautifully thin coat of Brilliant Glaze
Sky started to look ominous so the car was pulled back in for a waterless wash wipe down to discharge the static and dressing of trim, engine bay, and tires began
Wheels were treated to a coat of Quick Sealant as was the front bumper due to the enormous amount of pitting and chips. I wanted to avoid using any waxes so they would stay less obvious
Americana was applied by hand to the rest of car, Anthony removed and performed the final inspection with a double soft towel
Between clouds we'd get a little sun to inspect our work with
Pulled the car out for final inspection, touchup of glass, interior, and hand polished the exhaust tips using 0000 steel wool with Metal Polish 1 & 2
The clouds opened up shortly after that and it began pouring... so the G35s is taking the Avalanches place in the garage for the night and the owner will hopefully be able to come get it tomorrow morning.
