yep, elgato eyeTV it's called.

the one thing i noticed about these mics is that if the input level is low after plugging it into the gopro, chances are the S/N will be terrible due to the gopro's internal high pitched noise unless you place your mic next to a loud sound source. inside the cabin of my z (not quiet but not super loud) both rode (at -10dB) and audiotechnica were too low.

with the cheepo mics that i choice, the sensitivity is on the higher side but not high quality so they are probably about -3dB lower vs a nice mic like the rode.

the rode would do well in quiet environments like say in my music room or inside a house, inside a quiet car if the mic was held by hand. when i spoke into the rode at 0dB, the gopro sounded acceptable.

also the isolators were not enough to suspend the mic housing from its holder over bumps even with my conti DW's. i can hear the mic housing bumping the holder.
