I prefer Adobe Premiere for video editing but it can have a bit of a learning curve and doesn't really get used to its full advantage without various other programs in the creative suite ie Photoshop, After Effects, etc.

You may want to look at Sony Vegas....its relatively inexpensive yet easy to use and fairly powerful.
