People, cut him a little slack.

For nearly ten years I towed a trailer most every work day. I used two different vehicles for the purpose and both did the job quite well. The trailer was a small custom made open bed single axle trailer with storage compartments and drawers below the bed. The loaded weight was around 1,600 pounds. I used it in my property maintenance business. Before the trailer I had used pickup trucks but I got fed up driving trucks so I made the trailer and used a car to pull it. Customers thought it was cool when the repairman showed up in a 99 Camaro SS m6 or a 04 GTO m6.

The Z is not much of a tow vehicle but you should be able to, on occasion, pull a 1,000 pound trailer without too much difficulty. You'll need a custom hitch and an electronic interface for the lights. You'll do best with an automatic transmission (with a transmission cooler and an engine oil cooler) and keep the tongue weight to about 100 pounds.
