OK have to chime in. Until you drive either the ZL1 or GT500 I don't know how you can post an unbiased opinion. All I have to say is who except GM and Ford are offering what amounts to factory produced race cars with plates for under $60,000. Is it possible to mod your 370Z for $20,000 and compete with them? I don't know. To get reliable 580hp and more on "factory" engines will be hard to match. Also the electromagnetic suspension on the ZL1 you cannot duplicate with a 370Z. Sure you can set up a full coilover setup for a track but the ZL1 can go from track to track with no adjusting by the driver other than setting the selector to track. As for which is faster the Ford or Chevy I'd say that it comes down to the track. Ford has more hp and smaller reargear which should mean at a very big track with top speeds being able to be hit it may win. Chevy with the bigger gear and independant rear should take a tight course where you need to pull out of tight corners. I hope to post times from Watkins Glen next year with my ZL1 and compare with other times. I'm not a pro racer just the average joe.
