@OP, the tune is like night and day. The actual hp/tq numbers aren't that different most of the time, but the throttle response is way better, the car feels much smoother, plus you get the maps so nobody can steal your car at night and take it for a joyride. You can also get way better mileage, I've heard stories of 30mpg and up, if you're into that kind of thing.

This really depends on what you are tuning for. Do you want more performance or better fuel economy? Performance helps fuel econ but I doubt a performance tune will get you over 30mpg. You can tune down performance and tune up efficiency and you definately will see high fuel econ.
