It's finally finished! Mostly. There's still a couple bugs to be worked out, and the tuning (which I'll need help with) and some cosmetic things to fix. I just got sick of messing with it, so some of the pieces aren't as perfect as my perfectionist self would like them. I'll finish them eventually.

The install, including taking it apart, sound deadening, and putting it back together took about 25 hours over the course of a few days. The whole fabrication process probably took 150 hours, and could have taken several more to get it perfect.

So far it sounds great, inside and out. The sound dampening really did the trick, and you can hardly hear any of the bass outside.

Anyway, here are some pics. Click the pics for big ones. I'll be glad to answer any questions. Enjoy!

Edit: Forgot to include a link to a video. I recorded it at night to see the needles moving on the amps. Turn the audio down, it sounds terrible. The poor little phone couldn't handle the awesomeness

Driver side kickpanel, primed and ready to be painted

Notice the notch missing? That's what happens when you build the whole stupid thing, and then decide to actually try and push the clutch down while test fitting. You end up cutting a corner out so the clutch can travel freely. Haha, at least it's way up under the dash. No one will ever see it.

Driver side, painted and ready for installation.

Passenger side kickpanel primed. I ended up cutting off the end with the holes. I couldn't get it to fit right with the running board piece.

A couple of progress pictures during the painting.

Oh no! Someone stole my interior!

Sub enclosure primed.

After the first layer of paint.

More of the gutted interior.

I painted my strut bar black, too. It stood out too much being silver.

Dash in pieces.

Sound deadening in the door and one of the 6.5" Focal speakers.

Starting to go back together.

Amp rack in place and wires pulled.

One nice thing about hiding the wiring...it doesn't matter if it looks ugly.

Amp rack partly together.

Ooooh, pretty.

A couple of the subs.

Passenger side kickpanel in place.

Driver side kickpanel in place.

Completed system. Whew!

And one of my car looking cool in a WalMart parking lot.
