What I'm looking forward to is that it will be a minimum of 250 lbs lighter than current (3,600 lbs). Ford just announced two days ago that they have a partnership with DOW Chemical to develop/produce automotive-grade carbon composites for use in mass-produced vehicles.
This just further backs up Ford's stated goal of reducing weight for all new models by 250-750lbs under the model it replaces. In fact, any new model does not get approved unless it meets this criteria.
Given the new Mustang will be closer in exterior dimension to the SN95 platform, I think they might cut the weight by even more than 250lbs.
Like them or not they are advancing and this is good for the industry as a whole.
