So like others I wanted to keep weight down. I used a 3/4 chunk of birch plywood for the plate. The amp is mounted on bracket cut from the same material and bolted to the two 7/16 bolts coming up through the floor. Smack dab in the middle of the space. So right now With the 3/4 bracket and the height of the amp I only have 1/2 between the subs and the amp. I may make another bracket from some thinner material, or I may just make the sub enclosures out of some epoxy fiberglass I have left over from working on my scarab. So as of right now they are all running free air. I've been keeping it turned down till I get time to enclose the subs. I'll leave the 6'5 running free air I imagine. If I remember right, I'm not sending anything lower then 80 hertz to them. Unless someone tells me they sound better then they already do enclosed. 105 bucks is cheaper then I thought it would have been. I have 15 bucks in material and 20 minutes in time on the one i made. So not all bad. I just need to finish the edges.
