So i went to the opening time attack event today. I had 2 goals...
1. Not crash or blow the car up
2. Have a lap time of 68.9 or quicker.
I completed both of my goals. My fastest lap was 67.9. I came in 2nd place in my class and 3rd place overall. In my run group was a 05 Viper with headers, midpipe, exhaust, tb and a tune. There was also a 09 Viper ACR and a Corvette, not sure of the year or mods on the vette. Although the Viper ACR had more of a street tire on so he went in the class below me and the 05 Viper with its mods moved to Race Class.
Heres how it broke down...
1st session = Passed the 05 Viper (yellow)
2nd Session = Passed the Corvette
3rd Session = Passed the 05 Viper again
4th Session = i skipped to eat
5th Session = Was about to pass the Viper ACR but got fuel starvation since i had just over 1/4 of a tank. (im planning on buying a anti surge fuel system)
Me = 67.9
05 Viper = 69.3
Viper ACR 69.5
Corvette = unknown (im waiting for the results to be posted on the forums and ill post a pic of it)
Heres 2 quick pictures. The blue evo is my buddy Sean. He was running slicks for the first time. Since he was taking it easy he only ran 67.1.
I'll upload videos as soon as they finish uploading. I'm trying to edit them to cut the size down.
Overall my car ran pretty good. Something is funky with the tune. My tuner keeps saying its my clutch slipping when i hit boost but anyone that goes for a drive in my car says its the tune. Other than that, i need new tires and brakes. Coming into turn 2 at 180-190kmh and slamming the brakes at full force just wasnt doing the job. I need something more aggressive and that wont feel so soft. My tires are pretty warn out already so i wasnt getting the best traction around the turns. I have a perrin rear sway bar set to the middle setting, im going to set it to full soft. I was getting to much oversteer for my liking.
I'm picking up a set of Enkie PF01's (18x9.5) next week from my buddy. Still deciding what rubber i want to put on it. As well as either ordering a new clutch set up or my brake setup.
