Did the Deed, Made the Deal
Well I got the car. A little twist along the way: I had pinged 3 of the dealers that are supporters of this forum. Turns out that 2 of them located the same car, at a 3rd dealership. After getting the same offer from the two of them, I told the first one that I would like to go ahead and do the deal. Then the dealer that had the car wouldn't let it go. Eventually I discovered who the dealer with the car was and talked to them directly (I would have been happy to buy it through the one I had told "Let's go" but they couldn't deliver due to the 3rd party dealer's obstinance.
Anyway, I ended up getting another $500 off the price. So I got it for $40,083 (500 less than invoice - I have a copy of the invoice) where the MSRP was $44,090. So I think I did OK.
I flew down to California (location of the dealers and the car) and picked it up, driving it home to Salt Lake City yesterday and today. I'm happy with it and it is a great pleasure to drive.
QUESTION: (maybe belongs on another section but I'm not that familiar with the landscape here yet): At what point do you think the rear spoiler deck and the front underneath "lip" (or whatever that scoop is called that drags bottom on the nose when you go into a driveway) actually have an effect on stability? I don't expect to do any race or performance driving, and I"m wondering how much I need those. At least I'd like to dump that scoop under the nose.
