after about an hour staring at the map, i think i found pretty much the most entertaining road coarse in the area. Here is my suggestion for the cruise route we should take for the next meet, i might go check it out this weekend just to make sure all roads are accessible and worth while.
The idea is as follows:
- meet at the Mohawk Racetrack parking lot (park in the corner near the road so that people that miss it can still spot you from the road) around 10-11am
- wait about an hour for everyone to get there, shouldn't be too hard its literally on the 401 (exit 312, see point A on the map)
- then we make sure everyone knows the route so that if we get separated we dont get lost since we are going to be taking some small roads.
- then we go off on the cruise:
- first interesting bit is going to be a number of hairpin turns on Britania Rd.
- Sideroad 4 will follow which seems to have some scenic valey views
- Sideroad 1 should be an interesting bit of road as well
- Mountain Brow/King road also looked nice and curvy
- then follows the bit i hope we have access to, i spotted this thing on the map it literally looks like a race track from satellite view, its the closed loop on Hickery Lin just north of the 403
- and finaly to complete the cruise we will follow the Snake road, which i think might be the best one of all of them, to Dundas and Hamilton St. There is a plaza there we can get something to eat. (point B on the map)
- After we eat i think we should definitely follow the same route back to Mohawk Racetrack, where we will regroup for the last time and be off in our own directions. Of course if people dont feel like driving back they can always take the 403 from the lunch location and go from there.
Here is the route map:
Route
Google estimates it to be 54km so it should definitely be a nice day of cruising
PM me or post here if you are up for test driving this route this sunday, so that we can cordinate a mini meet
