X2 on the test light, or volt meter.

Check your wake up wire, also called REM wire.
Check your power wire going into the amp
Check your ground wire.

The first two you can check with the test light, the third "ground" you can sort of check with your test light but a volt meter would work better. Check for resistance. ALso make sure when checking for power on your wake up wire that your head unit is on, otherwise you will not see any power.

Your ground wire on your amp, you can check by using that as your "metal surface" and touching your + lead to your power wire on your amp.
