So far the challenges have been with insurance claims, an insurance company wants the data to challenge someone in court so they can not pay out, but the car manufactures do not want to get involved since they have the access key. Unless this new Government bill requires them to hand over the key or make a universal key then requiring black boxes will do nothing to hurt us initially.
