You can get a whole lot of info just from a license plate. Most people do not want everybody on the internet know where they live. I don't see you putting your mailing address in your signature or anything
If someone is already there next to your car, yes they can follow you straight to your home and become a stalker or something. Once you put something on the internet, you can safely assume it will exist forever no matter what. Internet often has a lot of people with a lot of time on their hands. That makes it dangerous alone.
