when i did both my G and Z i needed to make a custom trim to remove the gap.

in my G i cut the trim that came with the head unit. very clean install.
for the Z i cut some hard-felt to size and used it as gasket. very clean install.

you can get the hard felt from most art stores.

if at all possible i stay away from trim kits (ex: metra) as they dont look and fit all that great imho...
