Regarding LED life I know working in the lighting industry (airfield) the 5mm diameter

They quote 10,000 to 50,000 hours life all the time but they are just plain lying, they make 1 for a test using high quality materials then the production ones are made as cheap as possible with no quality control which translates to an average life of 1,000 to 5,000hrs or less depending on the random quality. I can rant for hours about LEDs but I won't.
In the end I am just making a conscious effort to not use them all the time and since I don't drive this car that often I expect them to last a long time.
