This could end up being an okay compromise for people who like having a manual, but get "tech-envy" while looking at the features found on the automatics of cars such as the IS-F, C63, and Nissan's own GTR. Chevy's engineers dialled in launch control (REAL, warranty-backed launch control as far as I know), and no-lift upshifting into their Cobalt SS, and I'm sure those features are highlighted in every dealer's sales pitch. Then again... how cool would it have been that instead of dumping money into new manual shifting tech, Nissan included a 'performance driving academy' package with each new 370z purchase? Then we would still have the ability to rev-match downshift, but with a much cooler story to tell our friends!
