That is a sound processor, this device is the best way to get a flat signal to send to your new amps which in term send power to your new speakers.

There are other options that are less expensive. I only recommend this device if you are going to be dropping some serious money into amps and speakers.

It is basically a LOC with a brain. It can do other things such as time alignment for the cabin and actually power speakers with it's built in amp.

This device or any other LOC with be installed usually after your bose amp. You tap into the speaker outputs and these LOC devices create a flat low output for your new amps to accept. Some also run them before the bose amp.
