It's not death for theft, open your gaze to the bigger picture my friend:
  1. Theft
  2. Resisting an Officer
  3. Attempting to reach for an Officers Weapon, which, what do you think he would have done had he been able to get it...
I think we all know where that would have gone...
  4. Leaving the scene after being pulled over (Resisting Arrest x2)
  5. Extreme Speeding (100+ mph)
  6. Running Redlights
  7. Public Endangerment
  8. Possibly (Probably) Drunk... So DUI
  9. Damage to Public Property (the road)
  10. Damage to Private Property (the cement truck)
  11. Vehicular Manslaughter (if he had survived/truck driver had been killed)
So once you see the whole picture, death sounds pretty fair.

I'm suprised the police cruiser couldn't keep up though. To a loaded truck... Personal safety is one thing, but they teach you defensive vehicle techniques for a reason.

Glad to hear the Cement truck driver is ok though.
