I bet the T/O bearing whine was always there, and you're just noticing it now that you are hypersensitive to such. It sounds to me like you have a busted mount that is allowing excess motor, transmission, or differential movement that is causing something metal to impact something else metal. Most likely a transmission mount, based on your post.

This depends more on the specific tech than the dealership. Look for the right tech, not necessarily the dealership as a whole.
