OMP makes several seats that would be a better option, and they've got a few that are close to that price point. In fact, the OMP Design 2 is cheaper

That specific OMP seat isn't FIA certified, but at least it's manufactured by a company with a history in racing and known quality. If you really want to upgrade, I'd suggest looking at fixed-back bucket seats with FIA approval.

Good Point. I was looking at an almost identical Corbeau, because I sat in one this weekend and it actually fit me:
Corbeau: LG1
but I don't think corbeau are certified either. I can't do a fixed back though. I have an odd body. However, I think that with a proper 5 point harness and hans device, it definitely couldn't be worse than stock.
