For myself, I got the 370z due to price with options, and the styling/appeal. There are other cars I have owned; 2 evo's and 1 sti that would smoke stock for stock a 370z at most road courses.

Is the ZL1 going to be bad*ss? Yes it will, will it be able to be modded with a smaller S/C pulley + catless pipes + gears, you better bet on it. Cheap mods (maybe 1200 without full exhaust) and probably 100+ rwhp gain like on my old 03 cobra.

After all this, you can't tell me when sitting at a red light with your girl.... a ZL1 pulls up next to you and gives you a friendly rev, that you don't quietly sit there thinking "f*ck, leave me alone".
Fair enough, but my Z06 would thrash a ZL1, and I don't miss it. Most traffic lights are in populated areas, and even at the ripe old age of 26, I am not into making a fool of myself in such areas. I think that the ZL1 will suffer from the same issues my Z06 did. Namely, that if you aren't thrashing it, it won't be that great. It will be a better "road trip" or "cruising" car, though. However, for the same price, the CTS-V totally has it. Hands down.

The ZL1's interior, to me, is far worse than that of my 370Z, and even with all the suspension goodies, 4100# is going to feel "heavy". I like the feel of my 370Z. It feels very agile.

I don't race my car for my living, so "feel" is really all I care about. However, my car is only about 2 seconds slower per lap on the 1.5 mile Radical circuit at Spring Mountain than a base C6 corvette. That's PLENTY of "go" for anything I need to do.

I really think that after the "OMG ITS FAST AND HAS AN SC V8!" wears off, OP will wish he had his 370Z back.
