Same thing happend here sorta...I offered a pay stub and everything and the dealer still told me that they have to come to an agreement on the price of the car prior to test driving any cars. I hope I don't get flamed for this, but I couldn't think of a polite way to respond besides thinking that the car is no $300,000 Ferrari...it's a $38,000 Nissan...
Needless to say at the end of the month I am going back (when they get the one I want in) and talk prices so I can at least test drive. It's one thing when somebody wants to drive the car and has nothing to show for, but when you are offering pay stubs and proof you can purchase the car there is no reason whatsoever that I or any other possible Nissan customer should not be allowed to test drive before purchase and told prices must be settled prior to.
