Well, it's a car from a Japanese manufacture, so the final decision must have to have some discussion with Japanese HQ, therefore, if you want to know was/were there and Japanese involved in the R&D of the Z, most likely it's a 'Yes'.
However, I think no matter who is the designer or whatever, the most important is
Do you like it??
