Keep in mind that the insurance company (and that's all it is) is in business to make a profit and the only way it can make a profit is to charge enough in fees to cover all their potential exposure and then some plus these plans are a HUGE profit center for the dealer (and that profit has to be covered as well).
You will be far, far better off to take whatever money you would spend on an extended warranty and put it in the bank...better yet, have a real emergency fund so that paying for vehicle repairs when they happen aren't a big deal.

I can see this on cars that are cheap to repair. I bought an extended warranty on my Mitsubishi Eclipse 98 GSX. Good thing I did because as within the first two months of ownership this being a used car it had $6500 in warranty work done.
I had a $50 dollar deductible. Since the warranty could be used at any dealer or shop. My friend who owned the shop would do all the repairs. He would replace the parts with high performance parts. Need new trans got a racing trans, clutch racing, turbo big 16g turbo.. At no extra or if the part was a little more then I cover that cost no extra labor. That is the bomb!
I know everything for the z is expensive so I am happy to have the warranty and will be happier if I find out my friends shop can work on it. LOL!
